Modifies the delegation of parental authority terms in Minnesota.

Minnesota HF4187 amends the delegation of parental authority terms by allowing parents to delegate powers for up to three years, rather than one year, unless certain conditions are met. This bill modifies Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 524.5-211, to require a parent to notify the other parent within 30 days of executing a delegation of powers, unless the other parent lacks parenting time or has supervised parenting time, or there is an existing protection order against them. The bill also allows parents to designate a standby or temporary custodian under chapter 257B.
