Minnesota HF4177 allocates $550,000 from the general fund to the commissioner of public safety for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's Independent Use of Force Investigations Unit. The funds will be used to hire two additional special agents and one criminal intelligence analyst to focus on cases assigned to the unit. This appropriation supplements the funding provided in Laws 2025, chapter 35, article 2, section 3, subdivision 3. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2026.
