Former officers of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration can reside in Minnesota veterans homes.
Minnesota veterans homes will now provide nursing care and social services to former commissioned officers of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. These officers must have served on active duty for at least 181 consecutive days or been separated under honorable conditions due to a disability. This change amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 198.01, to expand eligibility for state veterans homes.
