Minnesota HF3734 provides an alternative mechanism for prompt payment of emergency room and ambulance charges for patients enrolled in very high.
Minnesota HF3734 amends state statutes to establish an alternative mechanism for prompt payment of emergency room and ambulance charges for patients enrolled in very high deductible health plans (VHDHP). Under this bill, health plan companies that issue VHDHPs must pay charges directly to hospitals or ambulance services within 15 days if the charges are not payable due to the enrollee not having satisfied the annual deductible. The health plan company can then seek reimbursement from the enrollee.
