Introduced·2/23/26
Introduced Text

Allows eggs past their quality assurance date to be donated to charitable food assistance programs.

The bill amends Minnesota Statutes to allow eggs past their quality assurance date to be donated to charitable food assistance programs. These eggs must be in their original packaging, continuously refrigerated, and distributed within 30 days of the original quality assurance date. The packaging must include a label stating "Donated Eggs - Not for Resale." This provision aims to reduce food waste by enabling the donation of eggs that might otherwise be discarded.
