Authorizes Robbinsdale to impose a local sales and use tax for public works projects.
The bill allows the city of Robbinsdale to impose a local sales and use tax of up to one-half of one percent, subject to voter approval. The tax revenue will be used to cover the costs of collecting and administering the tax, and to finance up to $40 million for the Public Works Facility Project, plus associated bonding costs. The tax expires 20 years after imposition or when project costs are covered, whichever comes first. The bonds issued for the project are exempt from city debt limitations and levy restrictions.
