This bill repeals state preemption of local units of government regulating firearms. It removes state preemption of local regulation of firearms, ammunition, and their components. Local governments can now regulate firearms, ammunition, and their components, except for school districts and other entities composed exclusively of school districts when regulating school grounds, school facilities, school transportation services, school programs, or student conduct. The bill also allows local governments to regulate the location of businesses where firearms are sold by a firearms dealer.
