Minnesota HF3023 establishes a program for additional unemployment benefits for iron ore mining employees who were laid off. Eligible employees can receive up to 26 weeks of additional benefits if they were laid off from an employer in the iron ore mining industry that laid off 50 percent or more of its workforce between March 15, 2025, and June 16, 2025. The weekly benefit amount is the same as regular unemployment benefits. Employees who qualify for a new regular benefit account must apply for it.
