Minnesota HF2552 amends state statutes to regulate direct shippers of wine. The bill imposes sales and use taxes, liquor gross receipts taxes, and excise taxes on direct shipments of wine. Direct-ship wineries must obtain a license, pay an application fee of $50 and a renewal fee of $50 annually by January 1. The bill also mandates that common carriers contracting with wineries for wine delivery into Minnesota file monthly reports with the commissioner.
