Minnesota HF2297 establishes a special license plate for solar pollinator programs and makes agrivoltaic solar sites eligible for solar site.
Minnesota HF2297 creates a special license plate for solar pollinator programs, available to vehicle owners who contribute to the Board of Water and Soil Resources pollinator account. The bill also allows solar sites integrated with agricultural activities, such as crop production or rotational grazing, to qualify for solar site management practices. Owners of such agrivoltaic sites must submit a management plan and practices report to the agency. The special plates can be transferred to another vehicle registered to the same owner for a fee of $5. The provisions take effect January 1, 2026.
