Minnesota HF1996 modifies town aid calculation and increases annual town aid amount.
Minnesota HF1996 amends the calculation of town aid by using the most recently available data as of January 1 in the year the aid is calculated. It also increases the annual town aid amount from $10,000,000 to $11,500,000 for aid payable in 2026 and thereafter. The bill modifies the agricultural property factor, town area factor, and population factor definitions, and ensures the total aid distributed does not exceed the limit set in section 477A.03, subdivision 2c.
