Minnesota HF1593 allows local governments to not comply with unfunded state mandates if the cost is not significant compared to their total budget. This applies to both municipal and county governments. However, they must still comply with mandates related to financial audits or public safety and health. The provision takes effect for mandates in place after June 30, 2025.
