Minnesota HF1510 allows presentence investigation reports to include information related to brain injury.
Minnesota HF1510 amends the state statutes to authorize presentence investigation reports to include information related to brain injury. When a defendant appears in court and is convicted of a felony, the court must inquire about the defendant's history of stroke or traumatic brain injury. If the defendant has such a history and the court believes it may have caused a mental impairment affecting judgment, the court must order a neuropsychological examination unless the defendant has had a recent one.
