Minnesota HF1193 provides $16.6 million in fiscal year 2026 from the general fund to the Public Facilities Authority for a grant to the city of Hastings. The funds will be used to predesign, design, construct, and equip the Eastern Water Treatment Plant. This plant will remove perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and nitrates from the city's drinking water and interconnect the Minnesota Veterans Home. This is a onetime appropriation available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
