Minnesota HF1112 creates regional food bank grants to increase food availability for individuals and families in need. The commissioner of children, youth, and families will establish these grants and distribute money to regional food banks and federally recognized American Indian Tribes or Bands. The funds must be used to purchase, transport, and coordinate the distribution of food to The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) providers. Additionally, the funds may be used to purchase personal hygiene products, including diapers and toilet paper.
