Minnesota HF1042 amends the authority of the Independent Use of Force Investigations Unit to include investigating criminal sexual conduct cases involving peace officers and members of the Minnesota National Guard. The unit will investigate such cases when they occur on state-owned military installations, armories, air bases, or facilities. The unit will also assist in investigations of sexual assaults of National Guard members that occur outside the state if requested by the investigating agency.
