Michigan SB1097 amends the Michigan Occupational Licensing Act to allow the Department of Licensing and Regulation to issue emeritus licenses to retired individuals. An emeritus license does not allow the holder to practice their occupation. The license must include the word "emeritus" in any use of the license title. To qualify, the applicant must have been previously licensed, must have retired, and must agree not to practice the occupation.
