Michigan SB1096 amends the procedure for vacating disciplinary records of certain licensees or registrants.

Michigan SB1096 modifies the process for vacating disciplinary records of certain licensees or registrants. It allows respondents to notify the department within 30 days if they accept the conditions in a citation or contest the violation. If a respondent accepts the conditions, they must sign and return the citation within 30 days. If they contest, they must state their non-admission and return a copy within 30 days, triggering a formal complaint. Citations for failing to complete continuing education are automatically removed from records after four years or upon proof of completion.
