Michigan SB1095 allows the Department of Licensing and Regulation to issue emeritus licenses to retired individuals.
Michigan SB1095 amends the Michigan Occupational Code to allow the Department of Licensing and Regulation to issue emeritus licenses to individuals who have retired from a licensed occupation. To qualify, applicants must submit an application and documentation showing their previous license was in good standing. The emeritus license does not permit the holder to practice the occupation. Recipients must acknowledge they will not practice and must add "emeritus" to any occupational titles they use.
