Michigan SB1071 amends the Estates and Protected Individuals Code to revise the order of priority for funeral representatives. The bill specifies that a funeral representative designated by the decedent has the highest priority, followed by the surviving spouse, and then a list of relatives in descending order of priority. If no individual from these groups can be located or declines to act, the rights and powers pass to the next in line.
