Amends Michigan's occupational code to revise procedures for county medical examiners handling bodies.

The bill revises Michigan's occupational code to update procedures for county medical examiners handling bodies. It specifies that medical examiners must ascertain the identity of a decedent and notify next of kin of the death and body location. If visual identification is impossible, verification through fingerprints, dental records, or DNA is required. Medical examiners must also notify relatives or representatives if body parts are retained and offer an opportunity for their return.
