Michigan SB1064 requires funeral establishments to have refrigeration units unless certain conditions are met.

Michigan SB1064 amends the ownership and management requirements for funeral establishments. It mandates that funeral establishments must have refrigeration units unless they have a contract with a nearby facility that has suitable refrigeration or own or operate a cemetery or crematory facility within 50 miles that has suitable refrigeration. The bill also includes provisions for managing multiple funeral establishments and the qualifications of managers.
