This bill amends the parole board procedures for prisoners serving sentences for first-degree murder or life without parole. It mandates that one member of the parole board interview such prisoners after 10 years and as deemed appropriate by the board. The formal recommendation is sent to the governor. The public hearing must be conducted before the parole board, with the attorney general or a member of their staff representing the public.
