Introduced Text

Michigan SB0853 establishes licensing requirements for firearm dealers.

Michigan SB0853 amends the Michigan Business Licensing and Registration Act to require firearm dealers to obtain a state license. The bill mandates that dealers possess a license issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, obtained by submitting an application and paying a fee. The license is not transferable and expires one year after issuance. Dealers must renew their licenses annually, and failure to renew results in the suspension of their license. The bill also requires dealers to display their license prominently and mandates training for dealers and their employees.
