Michigan SB0834 amends the state's sign regulations to require permits for accessing limited access rights-of-way to maintain signs. The bill specifies that sign owners, their agents, or property owners with contractual relationships to maintain signs must obtain a permit from the department to cross such rights-of-way. Without a permit, violators face fines for the first offense and sign removal and permit cancellation for subsequent violations.
