The bill creates the Michigan Secure Retirement Program Board within the Department of Treasury. The board consists of seven members, including the state treasurer, a designee of the state treasurer, the director of the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget or their designee, two public representatives with expertise in retirement, a representative of participating employers, and a representative of enrollees. Members serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for travel expenses. Appointments are made by the governor, subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
