Introduced Text

Michigan SB0775 requires audio recordings for all public body meetings except those held in closed session.

Michigan SB0775 amends the Open Meetings Act to mandate that every meeting of a public body, including state licensing boards, state commission panels, or state rule-making boards, must be recorded in a manner that captures sound. This applies to all meetings except those held in closed session. The recordings must be kept for at least one year and be reproducible under the Freedom of Information Act.
