Michigan SB0725 requires medical assistance coverage for donor human milk for infants under certain conditions.

Michigan SB0725 amends the Michigan Public Health Code to allow eligible individuals to receive medical assistance coverage for donor human milk for their infant. Coverage is available for up to 2 years after hospital discharge or childbirth if a provider prescribes the milk and either the birthing person cannot provide milk or the infant was born prematurely or with a low birth weight. This change takes effect January 1, 2026.
