The bill allows for the automatic relinquishment of farmland when it becomes subject to an agricultural conservation easement or purchase of development rights. It also allows for the relinquishment of up to 2 acres of farmland, or up to 5 acres if necessary to encompass all buildings on the parcel, with approval from the local governing body and the state land use agency.
