Modifies the administration of Michigan's industrial hemp program by adjusting fund management and enforcement.
This bill amends the administration of Michigan's industrial hemp program by establishing the industrial hemp fund within the state treasury. The fund will receive fees and other assets, with interest and earnings credited to it. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is designated as the administrator for auditing purposes and will use the fund to establish, operate, and enforce the program. On October 1, 2026, the fund will be abolished, and any remaining balance will be transferred to the agriculture licensing and inspection fees fund.
