Exempts certain non-opioid pain management drugs from prior authorization in Michigan Medicaid.

This bill amends Michigan's Medicaid program to exempt certain non-opioid prescription drugs used for pain management from the prior authorization process. Specifically, it ensures that drugs classified as anticonvulsants, antidepressants, or antipsychotics, and prescribed for pain management, are not subject to prior authorization. The Department of Health and Human Services must also ensure these drugs are not disadvantaged in coverage compared to opioid analgesics. The bill further mandates that such drugs be added to the preferred drug list within 90 days of the act's effective date.
