Introduced Text

Michigan SB0437 amends public service employment laws to restore the right to work.

Michigan SB0437 amends sections of the 1947 Public Act 336 to restore the right to work by requiring all employees in a bargaining unit to share fairly in the financial support of the labor organization or their exclusive bargaining representative by paying a fee. The bill specifies that this requirement does not interfere with existing collective bargaining agreements. It also prohibits public employers from discriminating against employees for their membership status in a labor organization and mandates collective bargaining for wages, hours, and other employment terms.
