Exempts certain prescription drugs from the medical assistance prior authorization process in Michigan.

This bill amends the Michigan Public Health Code to exempt specific prescription drugs from the prior authorization process for Medicaid beneficiaries. The exemptions apply to drugs used for cancer treatment, organ replacement therapy, epilepsy or seizure disorder, and opioid withdrawal symptom management or opioid use disorder. The bill also exempts drugs recognized in standard medical references for treating HIV infection or complications, and those used for purposes deemed reasonable and appropriate within community standards of practice.
