Extends the sunset date for the water quality protection fee in Michigan.
The bill amends section 8715 of the Michigan Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to extend the sunset date for the water quality protection fee from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2030. The fee, which is paid by registrants for each product, is $270.00 per product and is due before July 1. A late fee of $100.00 applies for renewal registrations received after June 30. Specialty fertilizer and soil conditioner registrants pay an additional $100.00 fee. Fertilizer manufacturers and distributors pay a fee based on the nitrogen content or weight of the fertilizer sold.
