Michigan SB0265 amends the Michigan transportation fund allocation to ensure a reasonable amount, but not less than 1%, is spent on nonmotorized transportation services and facilities. This includes construction, improvement, maintenance, and repair of such facilities. The bill also mandates that units of government prepare a 5-year program for improving qualified nonmotorized facilities, which must be consulted with relevant state and local transportation authorities.
