Provides for outpatient treatment for misdemeanor offenders with mental health issues in Michigan.

This bill amends Michigan's mental health code to allow for misdemeanor offenders with mental health issues to be diverted into assisted outpatient treatment instead of facing criminal prosecution. A physician, psychologist, or qualified health professional can assess if the defendant meets the criteria for this treatment. If so, a petition is filed, and if no objections are raised, the court can order up to 180 days of assisted outpatient treatment. Misdemeanor charges are dismissed after 90 or 180 days, depending on the severity of the misdemeanor.
