Introduced Text

Waives minimum pupil instruction days for districts closed during a state of emergency.

The bill amends the School Aid Act to provide a waiver for districts that close during a declared state of emergency, exempting them from the minimum days of pupil instruction requirement. This waiver applies if the district operates a department-approved alternative education program and does not provide instruction for all grades K-12. The waiver also requires the district to report attendance percentages to the Department of Education. The bill specifies conditions for eligibility and the calculation of state aid for districts that do not meet the minimum attendance requirements.
