Extends presumption of causation of heart and respiratory diseases to certain police, fire, and public safety members.

This bill amends the Michigan worker's compensation law to extend the presumption of causation of heart and respiratory diseases to certain members of police, fire, and public safety departments. Specifically, it applies to full-time, part-time, paid on-call, volunteer, or former members who have served 60 months or more and were exposed to hazards during fire suppression, rescue, or emergency medical services. The presumption can be rebutted only by scientific evidence. The bill also establishes the Christopher R.
