Michigan SB0159 creates a new act that empowers the attorney general to investigate claims of violations of the event online ticket sales act. The attorney general can bring civil actions to restrain, enjoin, or prevent violations. Violators face civil fines of up to $5,000.00, with fines deposited in the general fund. The act also allows for the recovery of restitution and reasonable costs and attorney fees. This act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. 159 of the 103rd Legislature is enacted into law.
