Michigan SB0143 amends the mental health treatment laws to ensure that patients' rights, including the right to object and end voluntary treatment, are communicated both orally and in writing. This communication must occur at the start of treatment and include the process for ending treatment. Additionally, a copy of the written consent and a specific form must be provided to the patient, the consenter, and another designated individual.
