The bill amends the Future Educator Student Teacher Stipend Program to provide stipends to student teachers participating in required coursework and maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Eligible student teachers must be admitted to an approved educator preparation program, be working toward a teacher certification, and be placed in a district or qualifying preschool program. Payments are made at the beginning of the semester in a lump sum to the student teacher. If funding is insufficient, priority is given to Pell grant recipients.
