Introduced Text

Michigan SB0065 amends hunting regulations to require a deer baiting license for certain deer hunting activities.

Michigan SB0065 amends sections 40102 and 40111a of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to modify regulations on deer baiting. The bill defines "deer or elk baiting" as the depositing, distributing, or tending of feed in an area frequented by wild, free-ranging white-tailed deer or elk to aid in the taking of deer or elk. It excludes certain activities from this definition, such as feeding wild birds or other wildlife if done in a manner to exclude deer and elk from gaining access to the feed.
