Michigan SB0011 prohibits local governments from enacting sanctuary policies that limit cooperation with federal officials on immigration status.

Michigan SB0011, known as the Local Government Sanctuary Policy Prohibition Act, prohibits local governments from enacting or enforcing laws, ordinances, policies, or rules that limit peace officers or local officials from cooperating with federal officials on immigration status. The act allows residents to bring actions in circuit court to enforce it, and mandates the attorney general to investigate complaints and bring actions against non-compliant local governments. Violators face injunctions, fines, and other penalties.
