Michigan SB0010 amends the Revised Statutes of 1846 to prohibit foreign governments and state-sponsored enterprises from purchasing or acquiring farmland in Michigan. This includes land zoned for agricultural use and capable of producing crops, livestock, timber, dairy, orchards, ranching, or hemp. Foreign entities that own farmland in Michigan before October 1, 2023, may continue to hold it but cannot acquire additional farmland.
