Establishes the MiNURSES program to recruit, place, and retain nurses in underserved areas.

The bill creates the Michigan nurses in urban, rural, and socioeconomically challenged settings program, or MiNURSES program, to increase recruitment, placement, and retention of nurses practicing primary care in rural or urban underserved areas. The program includes a fund for receiving and investing money, and the department is tasked with administering the program, including working with health facilities to support nurse positions, recruiting and placing nurses, and promoting the program. An advisory commission provides recommendations to the department.
