Michigan HB6087 amends the landlord-tenant act to provide relocation assistance for tenants in hazardous or dangerous buildings. If an enforcing agency determines that conditions in a premises constitute a hazard to health and safety or that a building is dangerous due to inadequate maintenance or management, the landlord or building owner must pay relocation assistance to the tenant. The assistance must be three times the tenant's monthly rent and paid within 7 business days after the agency issues an order. This assistance is in addition to any other remedies available under the act.
