Michigan HB5954 establishes fair scheduling standards for employers in retail, hospitality, and food services sectors.

Michigan HB5954, known as the "employee fair scheduling act," mandates that employers in retail, hospitality, and food services sectors provide new employees with a written work schedule estimate at the time of hire. Employers must also provide a written work schedule at least 14 days in advance for all employees. The act prohibits employers from scheduling employees during certain rest periods and requires employers to compensate employees for changes to their work schedules.
