Expands the powers and duties of the Office of Legislative Corrections Ombudsman.

The bill amends the 1975 PA 46 to expand the powers and duties of the Office of Legislative Corrections Ombudsman. It allows the ombudsman to commence investigations based on complaints or on their own initiative regarding administrative acts contrary to law or policy. The ombudsman can interview department employees, contractors, and qualified experts, and may bring testing equipment into correctional facilities. The ombudsman must create a standardized complaint form and establish procedures for handling complaints.
