Requires Michigan physicians to complete continuing education on nutrition and metabolic health for license renewal.

Michigan HB5811 amends the Public Health Code to mandate that physicians seeking license renewal complete continuing education on nutrition and metabolic health. This education must be based on scientifically objective clinical evidence and cover topics such as the impact of ultraprocessed foods, industrial seed oils, added sugars, and refined carbohydrates on health, the benefits of whole or minimally processed foods, and methods for counseling patients on nutrition and lifestyle changes.
