Expands definition of renewable energy to include new sources and excludes certain facilities.

This bill amends the definition of renewable energy to include geothermal energy, landfill gas, and thermal energy from geothermal heat pumps. It also includes certain organic materials used in methane digesters and renewable energy derived from solar, wind, and water sources. The bill excludes petroleum, nuclear, natural gas, industrial waste, post-use polymers, tires, tire-derived fuel, plastic, and coal from the definition. It further specifies that a renewable energy resource must be derived from solar, water, or wind power and come from the sun or the earth's thermal inertia.
